Just in time for Labor Day Pitch-Ins, I am excited to share my Whole Food Cole Slaw recipe with you!
This marks the very first post in my Living with Beauty series. What better way to kick it off than to talk about beauty from the inside-out? We can literally build beauty {glowing skin, healthy bodies, etc.} by eating food that works as fuel. And that is the beauty of Whole Foods. More on whole foods to come; promise!!
I have so much to share with you about Whole Food Eating, but I was eager to get this recipe to you before the last hurrah of Summer. You will notice that this recipe does not call for Mayonnaise. But there is a secret ingredient that more than makes up for the Mayo. I hope you enjoy sharing this cole-slaw recipe with your friends this Labor Day!
{disclaimer for people who get their panties in a wad: I do not follow a 100% Whole Foods diet -but I try, and the following recipe includes some ingredients that are not technically considered a Whole Food – ex. dijon mustard – but can be purchased as minimally-processed, minimal/real ingredients, and/or organic. Always read food labels to eliminate fake and chemical foods. Thank you kindly.}
My {secret ingredient} Whole Food Cole Slaw

I’ve never liked cole-slaw and neither has my husband. Mostly because neither of us like mayo in large quantities (although for some reason I like it in tuna & egg salad and on a BLT – go figure). But this recipe sounds delicious! Thanks for sharing!
You’re welcome! I know, it is SO hard to try something when it has never been a fave. This one is super yummy because of all the cheese – so if you like cheese and veggies together, I think this may be perfect for you!
We seriously love, love, love coleslaw. We love to have it with blue cheese and cranberries – but for sure I will be trying your recipe!! Looks very delish. Thanks for the tip on the organic canola oil!!!
I just went out of town for several days to celebrate my TWENTIETH anniversary (first time away from the kids, ever!) and while I was gone, one of my teens wanted to make cole slaw. She said, “I love it, but I didn’t know what recipe you use!” I had to confess I don’t have a recipe, it’s just in my head, but it’s a lot like yours! Now I’m going to point her here instead.
I make a gallon of yogurt every week, but I don’t have a yogurt maker so I use this method with a heating pad, since I already have one of those:
