renovation :: bathroom afters, stage one
Tuesday, November 9, 2010 by {darlene}

This is the first-ever “afters” post at Fieldstone Hill.  I am so thrilled to finally be documenting our home renovation and restoration. More renovation pictures are on the way early next week… including stage two pics of our bathroom renovation.

Below are the After pics from stage one of our bathroom renovation:

 Here is what we did:

1. New Wall Paint! Sachet by Martha Stewart for Sherwin Williams {discontinued; but they can still mix it for you}
2. I painted the clawfoot tub in black. The aqua could work in the right setting… but this wasn’t it!
3. Then we moved the tub from the wall over to the window. Better for daydreaming!
4. We installed a custom shower. Love it. More to come on this design.
5. New floors. Carrara marble mini squares. A fave.
6. We installed a built-in linen closet and drawers to make use of the space behind the door and next to the shower. Give me empty space, and I WILL make a closet.
7. New toilet!!! Sigh of relief.
8. Raw Muslin curtains.
9. Towel bars galore and coordinating bath hooks and paper holder.
10. Lots of laundry-fragranced, fluffy white towels.

It was a thorough makeover; mostly everything was replaced. But in this case, we did not have a choice. Not only are we thankful to have all of the mildew and mold out, we love our airy, fresh, and crisp bathroom.

more changes to come in stage two of this restoration/renovation project.
