paint a gutsy color

INSPIRED TO :: Paint a gutsy color… on my cabinets. on my walls. on my bookshelves. on my accessories {I’m thinking, my bar tray}. on my fingernails. To enjoy the current fun phase of two-toned kitchens. To think outside the box when it comes to kitchen colors. Get serious about the storage in my kitchen. Clean out, oh, say 12+ cabinets in my kitchen! Display my prettiest of plates. Look around for other ways to use a bright lemon-lime color – maybe paint a desk in glossy lemoncello!!??

So. What does this picture inspire you to do/feel/create/think……

What are you Inspired To?

  • I am inspired to tell you I miss you a ton!!

  • What!! I repinned this photo last night from one of your boards. LOL How funny. I love that the matching cabinets are painted different colors, and I am inspired to do exactly that in my tiny kitchen. Maybe not lemoncello, but something intense.
It also inspires me to grow more colorful indoor plants this winter, beyond green.

  • We have just painted our living room the colour of the cabinets! Struggling to find carpet & curtains though – we’re looking for darkish grey curtains, but haven’t found anything quite right yet – any ideas?

  • Darlene, I love the cabinet color! I love when the uppers are white and the base cabinets are a different color. This green wouldn’t go in my house, but I love the color all the same. 🙂

  • love the idea of colorful plants in the winter and colorful accessories in the cabinets. Inspiring photo for sure. all those white dishes let the colors pop and give breathing room

Kristen, did you by any chance see the velvet regal blue window panels at West Elm? Curious because I only know them via the website and I’m looking for that just right velvet blue panel for our den.

  • Darlene, What a bold and very beautiful kitchen!!! If you have any energy left after cleaning out your cabinets… you can come over for a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and help me clean out mine!!!
A tray or big lamp in that great pop of green would be fabulous…. nail… not so much. Green nails look like they are infected to me!! I’ve been married to a DR. way to long!
So wonderful to find your gorgeous blog!

Great post. This was by far the favorite inspiration photo of my day. Having spent today and past few days immersed in paint up to my elbows it was the confirmation needed to move forward with a paint pallet chosen for clients home redo. I have this color in my own studio and sometimes wonder if it’s just a personal favorite, it’s always been my go to color. I love Chartreuse Yellow / Lemoncello (BM color Sweet Pea). And then once I got beyond the lower cabinets there’s a gazillion other great kitchen ideas to be incorporated. I love how you make my head spin with ideas… in a GOOD way!
