Images Of bed duos

{“Images Of” is the new name of my post series, formerly known as Pin-spiration}

I think its funny that this comes on the heels of my “no matchy-matchy” post.  Just goes to show you that rules-are-meant-to-be-broken …

Below are images of bed duos, taken from a variety of gorgeous bedrooms. I love this look for a bedroom, especially guest bedrooms or children’s bedrooms. {This reminds me that I need to get my act in gear and get you all some pics of our nearly finished boys’ room – featuring matching beds, of course!}

Do you have any rooms that have matching beds? Considering adding a gorgeous space like this to your home??

  • Yes, ma’am! My guest room has twin beds, and I love it. Having twin beds in the guest room makes a lot of sense to me–the room is so much more versatile than a room with one bed. For instance, we often have college students stay with us, and they can share the room quite comfortably. And married couples don’t seem to mind to sleep in separate beds while they’re here. (Jack and I stayed in one of the historic houses at The Williamsburg Inn when we were first married. That room had twin beds, and it absolutely captured my heart. When we woke up in the morning in our separate beds, Jack said, “I feel like I’m on the Dick Van Dyke Show.” That memory always makes me smile!

    The decor in my guest room is all very inexpensive, most of it made with my own two hands, and I love it–I think it all came together beautifully, especially the two upholstered headboards that I made years ago and have re-covered three times now. Ultra-simple and so quick to make but really pretty, I think, and proof that you don’t have to wait until you have your “dream” headboards to go for it!

    • Is that room on your blog? I would LOVE a link!
      Your Dick Van Dyke comment made me smile. My former-football-player hubby hates twin beds in a guest room, because, inevitably, I get out of my bed and come over to snuggle with him! Can we just say: does NOT fit!!! One time, it even caused him to fall out. tee hee!

  • You know, I think you just convinced me in this one post, of something significant. I’m going to twist DH’s arm & insist we stay put after our oldest 3 leave the nest, saving more $. We’ll only have 1 kiddo left.. She can have the upstairs “master” and this is exactly what we’ll do with her old room as a guest room. I’ve always loved the look & feel of twin twins! I think add a couch to the master, with a daybed for her, there would be space for her big sis to bunk when she comes home for the holidays. Plus we could bunk our boys during those young adult years in the guest room easy peasy. Then my studio/kid hang out would be solely my crafting space. Oh how nice! Thanks for the inspiration, love, love, love your blog!!!

  • You’re so sweet to ask for a link to my guest room, Darlene! Yes, I’ve written about it, because it’s been a DIY journey. Still not perfect or anything close to the beauties you’ve featured here, but I like it and our guests seem to find it comfortable! You can see its latest iteration here:

    Every blessing to you!

  • My girls have twin beds in a {small} space, but we’ve made it work. Still need to fill in a lot of details, but at least they can sleep and play in there! 🙂

  • How funny! I just finished a post on pairs of chairs yesterday…we’re totally in sync this week ;D I’ve been hoarding images of twin beds forever now…love the classic symmetry but really, when was the last time anyone (but the tots) slept in something so teensy??

    Also- I’m hosting a décor-to-dress giveaway where 3 winners will WIN a fabulous frock of their choice just in time for the holidays! Hope you’ll stop by to enter the contest!
