I don’t tend to do much seasonal decorating. However, I still fully love, and embrace, the change of the season… as well as welcome that change into my home. I believe that just a few simple, natural touches {with a bit of restraint} highlight the seasons beautifully. One of the ways that I accomplish this is with two classic urns that flank the front door of Fieldstone Hill. With each new season, I change the arrangement that sits in the urns.
and Fall never feels official until the mums flank our 180 year old doorstep.
Here at our home, it has rained every. single. day. in September, and yesterday, while it still rained, there was enough of a break in the drizzle that I was able to take some pictures of the wet field-stone patio, wall, and the gorgeous mums.
How I love you, Autumn. Fieldstone Hill was meant for this time of year:
How do you decorate for the change in the seasons? A full redecoration? A few simple decorations? or a few natural nods to the new season?
Darlene your home is simply a dream. The mums are perfect!
I hope you come visit & tell me what you think of my fall decor…..so far!

thank you karena, you are so sweet!!!
So pretty and cozy! Is the tea steeping inside? ‘Cause I’ll be by this morning. 🙂 (I wish.)
oh! I wish too!!!!
Your bedding is turned down and there is a chocolate on your pillow. promise.
and I am glad to say that we finally got sunshine today. The last time I saw the sun was in Atlanta, at the park.
I was about to build an ark.
Stunning, like you. I wouldn’t get much done at your place other than ponder all the beauty.
xoxo michele
that MUST be my excuse!! haha. All that pondering.
cause goodness knows, I am not getting much done!!
you are a sweetheart, as always 🙂
Fieldstone! So that is what my house is made of! We live on a street called Rockcreek. There is a creek and the ground is FULL of rocks, many of which have been dug out and used to build the houses around here. I never thought that I’d spend so much time vacuuming stone!
our old cellar could use a good rock-vacuuming! that made me smile!
So pretty Darlene. We have done some seasonal decorating but I’m now thinking about getting some mums too.
Thank you for the inspiration.
Pru
oh, thank you, pru!!!
What a wonderful home! Enjoy the beautiful day, Kellie xx
Love the simplicity of it, Darlene. I’m also not big on the holiday decorating, but fall is my favorite time of year, so I made wreaths this year for our porch. Blogged about it today actually, let me know what you think.
