My own trip to Italy with my husband, 7 years ago. Totally undid me. I fell in love with a place, a country, a way of life. Have I ever shared pics from our Italy trip…. so long ago? I really should. But, suffice it to say for now that this country loves pure and simple beauty. Every thing they create is created with pride and beauty. Each simple, fresh and gorgeous meal. Each pure, country villa bedroom. Such careful pride is taken in adding small touches of beauty to the every day. In summary… Italy iself is ditto-worthy.
I will never forget a moment in Italy where I witnessed the gentle care of a woman who was fostering beauty in her home. An older woman, in her daily ritual of caring for her home. It seems so obvious now, but at the time, I had a light-bulb moment where I realized that, day after day, this woman values beauty in her home and she takes the time to make it happen. Every day.
After that trip of a lifetime, you will not be surprised to know that I fell for the rustic farmhouse simplicity of Italian Decorating. It has been true love ever since.
So, when I saw this home villa by Dede Pratesi, the luxury linens queen, it was also true love. And SOOOO ditto-worthy. Let’s take a look, shall we?
{As always, I look forward to hearing from you and finding out what you would ditto, too. So, be thinking!}

DITTO :: {WHAT I WOULD STEAL FROM THIS SPACE}:
1. KILLER LINENS.
O! La mia mamma! E molto belissimo! Pratesi. Seriously, when was the last time you saw linens that kicked the room up 10 notches. These are stunning. Not to mention, well pressed.
2. A TILE FLOOR THAT SLAYS MY HEART.
I die. I love the tile floors of Italy, but never ever have I seen such tile gorgeousness. These tiles take my breath away. Ditto.
3. ORANGE AND GRAY. PERFECTLY PRESSED.
Orange and gray is such a classy combination. {love the combo, see more orange and gray here}. I wonder, did the coverlet come like that, or was the tangerine satin and add on? Either way, this is SO ditto-able in our own homes. Sew on a color-contrast border {press well}, toss on the matching {well pressed} cashmere throw, and you are in business. Unless you hate to press….
4. THE FLOOR AND CEILING ARE THE WALLS.
This room flipped my decorating brain sideways. How cool is it that the walls are less of a canvas than the ceiling and the floors. LOVE THIS!!! Ditto!
5. FABRIC COVERED PARSONS TABLE.
And one that matches the headboard to boot {while on the topic – don’t miss the gilded monogram on the headboard}! A softer version of the classic Parsons, this fabric-covered beauty still has the fantastic bold lines, but is made perfectly comfortable for the bedroom. This is quite ditto-able, ditto-diy-style.
6. A BED THAT STEALS ALL THE LOOKS.
This room is ALL about that bed. And if I had spent thousands of dollars on my linens and bed coverlets, you had better believe it should be! Now. Time to crawl in. Ditto!!!!
* * * * * * *
SO much goodness.
Love anything I did not mention? or…
WHAT WOULD YOU DITTO {STEAL} FROM THIS SPACE, 1-6? SOMETHING ELSE?
I LOVE HEARING YOUR THOUGHTS!

I LOVE orange and gray together. One of my absolute favorite color combinations. Beautiful look here.
I ditto your dittoes or is it dittos??
This one is easy. Orange and gray. I LOVE the combo. My office is the same shades of the orange and gray used here. The bed coverlet and cashmere throw are very much ditto worthy. Gorgeous room Darlene. Where DO you find all these beautiful photos? BTW, A trip to Italy is also ditto-worthy. I dream of it….
Darlene, I love the monogrammed headboard and those fabulous floor tiles! It’s a gorgeous room I’d love to wake up in.
-Kristen
The ceiling is stunning isn’t it? When I stayed in both Florence and Venice I was lucky enough to have a room with a painted ceiling. It was so beautiful to wake up in the morning and stare at the ceiling!
