Happy Monday!!
Today is the very last day to enter to win the most gorgeous chandelier earrings from Stella and Dot. Click here to enter! I hope you win!!! {and when you do, can I borrow them from you??}
I am excited to ditto this room for you today, which I think is a brilliant balance between, what I lovingly call, “farmhouse simplicity and high-gloss glamour.” maybe leaning more toward the farmhouse…
In either case, this room is chock full of gorgeous details that you can {steal} and bring into your own space:
{house beautiful}
ditto :: {what I would steal from this space}:
- flank a door with two, matching, colorful cupboards. In this case, two gorgeous, paneled, green plate-display cupboards. The symmetry that they create is beautiful, and they bring a solid splash of color into the room. As well as being beautiful, they also serve a purpose…. which the loveliest of things usually do.
- “en masse” white plates. Both inexpensive and practical, why not display and decorate with the very things you use every day? We all need to eat off of plates. So, buy classy, lovely plates that add something to your room… and show them off!
- a snug little conversation area to sit, read, or eat. Or all of the above. I love how the seating in this area all hovers around a tiny round side-table, and creates a fantastic conversation area, as well as a comfy place to have tea together. It is a perfectly delightful little spot!
- ink blue! the pendant lamp and the pillows. Simply stunning against the neutral and soft green backdrops. Loving this for a punch color.
- paint a pendant. goodness gracious. Do you see how gorgeous and unique that orbital pendant becomes when painted in a pigment-rich inky blue? This opens up doors for you to purchase a fixture that needs some TLC. Or maybe even one that has an inexpensive finish, then add some gorgeous paint that ties into a punch color in your room. Voila! Glam!
- white, alternating stripes on hardwood. How gorgeous is this? It takes guts to take a paintbrush to wood floors as lovely as those… but really! They go from average to absolutely stunning with these crisp, white, ticking-esque stripes. To-die-for!
- a tiny bar area. Not enough room in your space for a bar? All you need is a lovely tray, filled up your favorite beverages and maybe a shaker and a glass. Have bar. Will travel.
- a small {beautiful} sofa. Who says a sofa has to be large to be useful? If you like any of the loved-ones in your house, you could always pile onto this tiny sofa and snuggle together! That is what this precious, little sitting sofa makes me think about: Snuggling. And I also appreciate it for its beauty: lovely linen and stunning nail heads. Perfect.
So, what would you ditto from this space and add to your home?

I fell in love with this picture also! So many things to like – striped rug, light fixture, and more!
I am loving the symmetry too. I look forward to a home filled with light the next time we move and I can flank them with shelves of some sort. My favorite ditto so far.
Not only do I love this room, but I LOVE this weekly aspect of your blog. I always look forward to the Ditto post!
