Beauty.

If you read Fieldstone Hill Design regularly, or have ever read my Master Designer Manifesto, then you know how important I think it is that we value and acknowledge the gift of beauty from a lasting perspective. {Do YOU create any thing of beauty? Maybe YOU should be on the Master Designer Blog Roll? I would love it if you would join the most creative, beauti-full women on the web!}

So, of course, I am totally excited about this project that my dear friend Jill has created.

Here is what Jill has to say about The I Am Beautiful Project.

“The planning of this project started over a year ago when women who participated in a weekly tutorial opted out of an assignment to take a self portraits.   Their reasons were so heartbreaking and it was the birth of this project.   My heart and passion is to help women see themselves as I do, BEAUTIFUL from the inside out.
You can learn all about the project and the story I long to tell by going here….
I hope you will join me in helping change the perception of our beauty and worth one woman at a time.   Please share this project [with others].”

Be sure to watch the inspiring video below. It made me tear up. All of us long to be told that we are beautiful… but there is something about it coming out of our own mouths that seems so hard. After a lifetime of negative voices against ourselves and our own image… these simple words break down walls.

 

Yes. YOU are Beautiful.

  • Darlene, you are an encourager to women. I’m on my way to watch the video. But, first I wanted to say how fun it is to see your post today, especially as I had just posted a colorful piece of art that says, “You are beautiful inside and out.” on my Longaberger Lifestyle FB page this morning…maybe you even saw it.

    Thank you for sharing this video. I have spent almost 30 years in the beauty/fashion/image industries and watched women struggle with their self-worth, image and identity for years. It breaks my heart to see all of us struggle with who we are. But God has called me to minister to His daughters and has called me to take them on a deeper journey of self-discovery. He created me and allowed me to struggle with these same issues so that I could edify and encourage other women as they discover, embrace and celebrate who they are in Christ.

    As children of God we are so much more than we allow ourselves to believe. God wants us to truly know deep within that we are beautiful because we are His. This is my life’s mission and I am happy to know that others are called to do the same.
