It’s “A Room I Love” Day….just a simple hello, from me to you, featuring a Room that I Love, and a quick list of why I love it:
It has been a while since I posted anything that feeds into my love/passion for farmhouse simplicity. I have been on a rather long high-gloss glamour kick, lately. But, count on a simple bathroom to remind me of keeping things pure. Like handmade soap, or fresh towels, or claw foot tubs… the classic simplicity of farmhouse living is right at home in the bath.
Here is a room that I love:
{via elle decor}
WHAT I LOVE:
- soft gray walls with cheerful, classic paintings that pop, and add brightness and color in a small but lovely way.
- a chair in the bath!
- a galvanized bucket waste-can.
- polished concrete floors!
- white wainscoting leading to an edge above the sink.
- no window treatments. wonderful if you can do it!
- classy, flat and perfectly folded towels with simple gray stripes.
- polished chrome hardware.
- horses seal the deal for farmhouse simplicity.
- fresh roses, in an antique silver vase. perfection. and ah, the fragrance.
DO YOU LOVE IT?? WHAT DO YOU LOVE?
Hello Darlene,
I love the contrast between the horse paintings and the clean white lines of this bathroom..lovely.

I need this bathroom. But I’m afraid our daughter would want to move in and hang a sign on the knob saying KEEP OUT.
I would swipe all of it. Especially those floors.
Have I told you lately how much I love your new bloggy design? Swoon.
xoxo michele
The horse pictures & the harware on the window (pulls) are awesome! A little chair in the bathroom I love…wish I had room for one in mine 🙂 Check out my FB page when you can 🙂
the gray walls, the paintings, the wainscotting; i’ll take it all! if we weren’t just wrapping up our bathroom redo i’d copy this in a heartbeat! maybe i’ll just pin it and have it be our next update. 🙂
Pure & Simple…just perfect

While my house is very modern, it shares some similarities: The blue/grey paint. My whole house is in this color and it works so well with white cabinets, maple and pine on floors and walls and cabinets and even ceiling, black furniture…everything! And it makes such a great backdrop for art and photographs of every kind. We also have no window treatments except where the neighbors’ lights shine in. And shiny chrome. Good stuff works in any room!
