Remember when I had baby on the brain??

Well, it is official! Last Friday I became an Aunt!

….Auntie Dar! Nice ring to it, right??

Okay, okay! Geesh. Pushy, pushy people. Alright already.

Here is a picture of the gorgeous guy:

Aidan James

Be jealous. I spent the weekend holding this brand new sweet life. He is SUCH an angel-baby.

Now.

Crazies like me are inspired to decorate at every turn of life.  Including the birth of gorgeous babies. Including becoming an Aunt. Including watching your baby sister become a great mother.

And, while sweet Aidan dreams of snuggles and milk, I am busy thinking up gorgeous nursery combos.

Calls for Ditto-ing, doesn’t it?? Well, I have just what the pediatrician ordered:

7 amazing, easily ditto-able ideas to add to a sweet-new-baby’s room.

ditto-worthy idea one:

A touch of circus: Canopy striped roman shades.  Circus prints in square frames.

ditto-worthy idea two:

Is this the CUTEST sign or what? {yes, yes. I know that cute is my “don’t buy” word. But truly… it does not count for nurseries. Don’t you agree???} This sign would be easily ditto-able in any font. It’s the message that steals the show.

ditto-worthy idea three:

Go French glam: a chandy. An artsy display of faded color photos. And, the best yet… flanking the crib with antique, French chairs.

ditto-worthy idea four:

vintage cards hung on the wall. An antique dresser for a changing table. An adorable and easy DIY mobile.

ditto-worthy idea five:

gorgeous ceiling-to-floor drapes in the nursery. With a stunning custom valance.

ditto-worthy idea six:

A whole-gorgeous-mess ‘o pom-poms, in analogous colors, hovering {securely} over sweet-one’s head.

ditto-worthy idea seven:

Poking christmas lights through a canvas, to make the prettiest mood lighting seen since light brights. Swirls would be pretty. Or a fun chinoiserie pattern. How ’bout it?

I hope you are inspired to add some simple beauty to the nursery in your life!

Which ditto-worthy idea is your favorite? Do tell!!!

  • Congratulations on becoming an auntie! Isn’t it the greatest? I already am Aunt Sissy to a sweet 4 year old boy, but just a few weeks ago he became a big brother to twins – boy and girl! I am over the top giddy with joy!
    Enjoy your little cutie!

  • Congratulations to your sis on her new little guy and to you on being an auntie! He’s adorable and I’d love a chance to snuggle him. I don’t know if I’ll have any more babies and I so miss rocking them to sleep!

  • I am loving those antique French chairs flanking that crib, plus how fun is that twinkly light canvas! My girls would be all over that. 🙂

  • Lucky is this little boy to have you as his very own personal designer Auntie Dar! I’m loving the twinkle light “Lite-Brite’ concept. We already have twinkle lights in antique jars scattered throughout the house. I’ll be making the canvas one tonight for sure.

  • So cute…my son is named Aidan James too.:)

  • I love the sign most of all. Very, very sleepy…

  • Darlene, CONGRATULATIONS! He is deeeelicious. Enjoy your beautiful new nephew!
I love the tissue paper pom poms en masse, and the twinkly lights – how sweet would that be when you’re rocking a bambino to sleep? Oh I miss those days…
