Happy Memorial Day
A ditto-worthy deed: remembering.
{via Joe Gromelski, Stars and Stripes}
I was so moved by the photos in this post, which reminded me of those who are left behind. I encourage you to take a moment to click over to view this photography tribute, and soak it in on this Memorial Day:

Today, our Memorial Day plans include fun family activities. If the weather cooperates, we hope to be floating down a lazy river in inner tubes. Regardless of the weather, we will also be writing a letter to Kristy, a friend who is bravely serving in Afghanistan. We are praying for you every day, Kristy.

Poignant photos. Thanks, Darlene. Enjoy your lazy river ride 😀
My prayers to Kristy too for her safe return home to her loved ones…
Unbelievable images.. you have truly captured the heart and soul of Memorial Day….The second image is beyond words…literally took my breath away.
Thank you for the shootout…the images were very moving specially for all i see here. I look at this fallen soldiers and think how young they are and the lives that will be shattered upon the news of their death or there conditions in which they will return home. Thank You for taking the time today to remember what its all about. Have a great time on the river wish I could get in some cold water…the AC blew out in the tent today so it was a hot one. Thank You again. Take Care, and have a great summer.
