Design Boards :: a dapper boys’ room
Wednesday, August 10, 2011 by {darlene}

When I found out that my client wanted to create a boys’ room for her two guys, I was excited!

Truth be told?
I love me some boys.

I did not know how much I would thoroughly enjoy dressing boys. and decorating for boys. It seemed as though girls had all the fun in this area. Boy, {no pun intended}, was I wrong!

I love me some boys.
And, I must admit, I love this boys’ room SO much that I am thinking of ditto-ing every last tidbit in my own boys’ room.
I know. I know. That would be tacky to ditto my own clients’ project. 🙂
But, seriously?
I LOVE this room:

Love, I tell ya.

And YIPPEE! My Wait-List queue is currently open for just a few more Vision Design Board clients. So if you have been itching to get into my line-up, now is your chance! Sign up today, before I panic 🙂 , and close it up again.

Also, I have added a new Rush service. It is pricey, and with all kinds of conditions and such. But, did I mention that I have two boys?? It can be hard to get things done around here {wink}.

  • Absolutely love that room although I love all your design boards. I like how the palette is subdued and "quiet" (unlike boys themselves!). I much prefer that to loud primary colors. The khaki wall color is great with the blue-grays and blacks and creams. I have two little boys myself and just started ripping down the blue and mauve 90's wallpaper. I have been struggling with how to bring in a vintage camp-by-the-lake vibe with washed-out blues, reds, and khakis without getting to "themey". You have given me some great ideas. And those Fieldstone Hill boys are precious!

  • Thank you, Julie!! What a kind comment! {especially about my boys! 🙂 }

  • Your boys are adorable! No wonder you love dressing and designing for them!

  • I Love this board! When my boy and girl don't share a space anymore I'll definitely be flipping back through your archives for inspiration 🙂 Right now I'm pretty happy with what we've got – it's girly and boyish and just plain fun and since it's bedroom/playroom/reading room all in one, for 2 little ones who are 4 (girl) and 2 (boy) I think it's good! But… I'm itching for the day we can have a girly space, a boyish space and a family play space!

  • I'm really liking the Union Jack cushions in the board – can you tell me where I can get them from?

    Thank you for your kind tweet the other day – it was very appreciated.

    xx

  • […] so happy about. I had fallen in love with the Treehouse Rug from Dash and Albert after using it in this client project, so I wanted it for this space as well. I loved how it grounded the space, and matched everything […]
