Things are getting busy around here! How about with you? I love this time of year, and I love its busyness. But I especially love that my busyness comes from carving out a lot of time for family traditions. I hope you, too, have a lot of time to spend with your loved ones this Christmas and Holiday Season, making wonderful memories.
I am excited to share my latest design board with you. It is a versatile basement space, and it is all about having a place where the family can be together. This basement has it all, with spots for TV watching, card playing, snacking, and playing billiards.
I had a lot of fun pulling all of the elements of the room together. One of the goals in this space was to keep it a place where the family’s Dad would feel like he had a space of his own, while avoiding making it a man-cave.
Here is what I came up with:
Here are my favorite elements in this room:
- Mixed metals!
- The punch color of navy.
- Bold, fun patterns
- The aviator art
- Brass accents
With my Vision Design Board Consultation, I include a complete listing of all of the resources seen on the board, as well as providing ideas for D.I.Y.’s and money-saving alternatives. I can’t wait to see how this room takes shape as my client pulls it all together !
I would love to hear your thoughts on this design board! What are your favorite elements from this space?

Great space! I love the colour scheme and the fact that the 2 striped chairs have a bit of a feminine shape to them so that it doesn’t take on that man cave feel. 🙂
thanks, lisa roy!
I love the colors! And that couch is begging me to take a nap on it! lol. (Which, of course, is a great thing!) Beautiful. I couldn’t think of anything like that if I had to.
thank you so much, susan!
Love the couch and pillows! Great navy color 🙂 The rug is pretty cool to!
thank you, jessica!
LOVE this room, the mix is so practical yet sophisticated and calming. The art, the lighting, the chairs around the game table–everything actually–wonderful. Another amazing and unique space!
Let’s not forget the fur! And love the dining chairs. xoxo
