You all know how I feel about the colors of the peacock!
- I have an entire Pinterest board devoted to peacock love. {oh. are you addicted to Pinterest yet?? You can click here if you want to follow my boards}
- And then, there is this post of all things peacock and this post of gorgeous peacock-influenced rooms.
- This very blog redesign was inspired by the peacock.
Of course, you can imagine my joy when a client contacted me and professed her love for the peacock as well. And, when we worked together to create a beautiful vision for her Dining Room, I loved every drop of turquoise, teal, and gold that was brought into the space.
My client wrote to me, sharing what she loved and what frustrated her:
One of my client’s challenges was that, once she put all of her beautiful furnishings together in her space, the overall effect was dark and heavy; the beauty of the pieces were weighed down by the overall dark tones. She longed for a bright space that was beautiful as well as inviting for her young family.
Here is the “After” for this Dining Room space; a Vision Board that will help my client to keep a focused direction in redecorating her space:
Reusing many of the main furnishings in the space, we were still able to create a whole new look for this Dining Room that will serve the needs of a growing family, while surrounding them in beauty.
I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR YOUR THOUGHTS ON THIS ROOM!
THANK YOU FOR CONTINUING TO ENCOURAGE ME AS I KEEP BALANCING THE DREAM OF FIELDSTONE HILL DESIGN!
This is such a beautiful design! I love the drapes and the chandelier and the stripe pillows! Very unexpected and punchy. I always like a bit of black in just about any room. Actually I love ALL the accessories.
I also really like how the existing furnshings look fantastic in this new space. One of my favorites!!!
Thank you so much, Dorothy!!
Wow – it is going to look amazing when you are done! what a fun project – I adore peacocks so I’m excited to see the end result…loving your pinterest boards too – have pinned several to my boards already. 🙂
Thank you so much, Barbara!!
Great board! I love how you used most of her own stuff! Did she implement yet? I wanna see the after pics 🙂
Not yet! That is one of the beauties of a Design Board… the client can go as slowly or quickly as they want! I can’t wait to see it too, though!
I LOVE the drapes! And the chair fabric and rug; and there is just enough peacock blue for a great punch but without being overwhelming. I love the little pops of green, too. It’s gorgeous, as always!
Jennifer, you are too sweet!!!!!!!!!
I really love this design and want it for myself. I guess I’ve never really realized how much I like peacocks until now. These colors are beautiful together but the way you design this room didn’t overdo it. Great job!
Thank you so much, cindy!!
Gorgeous Darlene. I have peacock blue walls in my entry and office/ den. Perfect!!

Thanks karena!! Peacock walls sound great!
Looks good! Can’t wait to see it when it is done.
Thanks, Taylor!
It’s fabulous the way you took everything and literally turned it all around!
Thank you so much, sweet Harriet!!! Love you!!!!!!
The ‘after’ you’ve designed is so soothing and I like the use of the peacock blue on the floor rather than the wall. Isn’t a real live peacock bird just ridiculousness? So beautiful.
thank you for your sweet words!! oh yes. the peacock defies words, no?
