What goes with beige?
Have you ever been stumped by any of these design obstacles in your home?
Beige carpet… that is here to stay, to your dismay.
Beige walls… or worse…. swine {as lovingly named by my friend Melissa}, that cannot be changed.
Dark floors… that you wish you could change, but that is not an option.
What can you do about these stubborn design obstacles?
I wrote a few articles for Better Homes and Gardens that addresses just these challenges. The articles are chock full of ideas for turning your design headaches into interior design features.
So head here if you have ever wondered: What goes with Beige carpet?
Head here if you need to know: What do I do with these Beige walls?
and head here if you wonder: How can I brighten this room with these dark floors?
Stop by.
Say hi.
And let me know, what are YOU going to do about your design obstacle?

Great articles in BHG! These tips I’ve used with all the homes I’ve lived in. (Moved 17 times before hubby finally retired!). Now I share them with my kids, nieces and nephews as they start off with first homes and apts. Keep up the great work. Love following your blog!
Thank you for writing these articles! I got married at the beginning of June and moved into an apartment with my husband. EVERYTHING is beige — the walls, the carpet, the counters, the trim . . . it’s overwhelming and honestly I don’t love it. But we can’t paint or change anything since we’re just renting, and this gives me hope that I can somehow make it work.
You can do it!!
Thank you for the articles! I was trying to keep our condo neutral for when we rent it out but I love color! I don’t want to change it because I think renters want neutral but I know now I can at least have pops of color without having to keep repainting 🙂
