Seasonal Wellness Lavender Lemonade
I am wild about the combination of lavender and lemon, and I diffuse the fragrance combo in my home just about every day… no joke. It makes my house smell like a spa, which – why not? It may very well be my favorite combination of aromatherapy. So, when I was invited to join in on the Essentially Summer Blogger Series, I knew just what I wanted to make.
I am following The Marathon Mom in the series, who is posting today about a refreshing Limeade recipe. You should swing by Brandy’s blog and try out the yumminess! And if you are here visiting from Brandy’s blog, welcome to Fieldstone Hill Design. This is a community of beauty lovers, who strive to live with beauty in the every day!
Lavender Lemonade!! I had so much fun whipping up a fresh lemonade treat for my family yesterday, adding the healthy benefit of lavender and lemon essential oils and freshly squeezed lemons. They were all to happy to join in and participate – by drinking up this yummy summer treat.
The wellness benefits of lemons and therapeutic lemon essential oils are endless, especially with the burst of vitamin C, and the natural chemical component of d-limonene. But what really makes this lemonade so special is that one little drop of therapeutic lavender oil {PS do NOT ingest essential oils unless they are certified therapeutic and approved for ingesting, Young Living Vitality Oils… it would be like drinking perfume. yuk.}. With the addition of lavender, this lemonade has an amazing taste and smell, and is perfect support for your seasonal immune system.* The combo of lavender oil and lemon oil are just perfect for this time of year. Go ahead, mow the grass! I will be just sitting here enjoying my Seasonal Wellness Lavender Lemonade!
For this recipe, I use honey, because of honey’s seasonal support and because we try like crazy to stay away from white sugar. But, if you have been off of sugar for weeks like moi, you can easily make this recipe without the added honey. Just add the lavender to the lemon juice before adding the water, since oil and water don’t mix!

Health Boosting Lavender Lemonade
Ingredients
1 1/4 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice, pits removed, pulp added 1/2 cup local honey + 1/2 cup water for sweet syrup 1 drop Young Living Lavender Vitality essential oil 2 drops Young Living Lemon Vitality essential oil 6 cups of waterDirections
Squeeze lemons and put into a glass pitcher {always use glass with essential oils and citrus juices}, including the lemon pulp. In a small saucepan, combine the honey and 1/2 cup of water. Heat honey mix over a very low heat, stirring until the honey has combined with the water, creating a syrup. Add 1 drop of YL Lavender Vitality essential oil and 2 drops YL Lemon Vitality essential oil to the honey syrup {not the water!}. Pour the honey syrup into the lemon juice, and add 6 cups of water. Stir well and serve over a bit of ice.* * *

Darlene, love this! How do you use it in your home?
The lavender and lemon oils? Well, I have a diffuser that came with my essential oil kit. It is a diffuser that does not heats the oils but spreads the aromatherapy over about 1000 sq. ft. I usually put in 5 drops of lavender and 5 drops of lemon, and I have it going all the time bc we all love it. The boys even know how to set it up, and they start it for me if I forget. haha!! We all love our oils, and they have become a family must-have.
Can’t wait to try this, Darlene! I often have lemon water in the mornings (not a coffee drinker)and I’ll use real lemon and lemon oil. I’ll have to try adding lavender!!
Happy to be participating in this series with you!
You could use a little real stevia powder – not the adulterated stuff but the straight from the plant kind – better yet, grow some and muddle the leaves in your pitcher.
Darlene, thanks for the tips on the lavender limonade. But what if I want to make only infused lavender water ??? Since oil and water do not mix….What should i use to make sure the oil get diluted into the water (I want to avoid honey as well….) Thanks !!!
I drink my Young Living oils in my water all the time. It does not fully combine with the water. I put a few drops into my glass {no plastic or styrofoam} and then add the water on top.
I’d love to have a completely healthy lifestyle like yours but I’m afraid I’m only using an essential oil diffuser for now. I definitely want to try to use essential oils in other ways though…
Do you note the lavender with just one drop?

Can we just try combinations other than lemon? there are some diffusers which do not use lemons as main element.
